A 27 year old farmer who allegedly raped an 18 year old woman on the pretext of being a church pastor is in Labasa Police custody.
Police Spokesperson, Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri said the 18-year-old was sickly and it is alleged that the cane farmer told her that he can cure her through spiritual intervention.
Sokomuri said the woman informed her parents about the pastor who then allowed her to be healed by the cane farmer, however the 27 year old allegedly raped her on number of occasions over a two week period.
The victim reported the matter to the police and the farmer is now being questioned by police.
