With only hours remaining for the South Africa 7s to get underway this evening with Scotland meeting New Zealand at 10 in the opening game, many Fiji rugby fans are still unsure on how the team will fair in the tournament.

After last week’s disastrous performance in Dubai some fans have called on a complete change to the team and management while other believe there will be a complete turnaround and improvement.

Fijivillage took to the streets today and spoke to some fans on what they thought about Fiji’s possible progression path, where some refused to comment as they did not believe Fiji will even reach the Cup quarter final stages.


Fiji’s first game is at 10.22pm against England. 

Coach Ben Ryan said he knows Fiji did not perform well last week.


Fiji’s second pool game is against Scotland at 1.28am tomorrow and then against New Zealand at 5.58am, which is expected to a thriller given three Fijians are featuring for the side.

Tomasi Cama Jr, Lote Raikabula and 18-year-old Luke Masirewa are in the side. 

Luke is the son of former Fiji and New Zealand 7s rep Waisiki Masirewa.

Looking ahead, the Cup quarterfinal will start at 11:39pm tomorrow, semifinals at 3.49am on Monday and cup final later held at 6.30am.
