A bumper crowd turned out at the TFL National stadium yesterday to witness the first round of games of the Inkk Mobile Battle of the Giants soccer tournament.

Fiji Football Association Chief Executive, Bob Kumar said close to 8,000 people were at TFL National stadium yesterday with the grandstand tickets sold out before the first game.

Kumar is hopeful that they will receive the same response in Nadi from this Thursday.

In the games yesterday, Rewa beat Ba, 2-1, Lautoka beat Nasinu 2-0, Nadroga and Suva drew 1-all and Labasa and Navua drew nil-all.

The tournament officially starts at Nadi=s Prince Charles Park this Thursday with Lautoka playing the first match at 5.30pm against Nadroga.
