As family and friends of five year old Shavneet Kumar now prepare for his funeral, it has been confirmed that an Official Inquiry into the death will start on Friday.
Permanent Secretary for Health Dr. Lepani Waqatakirewa confirmed to Legend FM news this afternoon, that the Independent team to investigate Shavneet's case will have until next Wednesday to establish what lead to the five year olds death.
Dr. Lepani also confirms that the Independent Pathologist who conducted the post mortem on Shavneet is still preparing a report which will be ready by Friday.
As revealed earlier by Legend FM news, the panel will consist a Doctor from Sydney, who arrives later this week, another independent local Doctor and a former Director of Nursing.
Shavneet who was taken into the operation theatre to straighten a repaired fracture went into a comma for seven days before passing away last Thursday. He will be laid to rest at 1pm tomorrow.
