Six people are now homeless after a fire destroyed their two bedroom house in Tailevu last night.

Regional Crime officer, Eastern ASP Aca White confirmed 6 people including parents and their 4 children were in the house when the house caught fire.

It is believed that a candle was left burning on a plastic lid left in one of the bedrooms that destroyed the wooden house.

Meanwhile, in another incident last night, a fire in Draumasi settlement Tavua, approximately 6 kilometers away from the fire station, destroyed a 5 bedroom house.

According to the NFA no one was at home at the time of the incident and the house was occupied by only one person while other family members have migrated.

The timber and concrete structure was partially destroyed in the fire.

Investigation continues to determine the cause of fire.
