A Labasa family is still in a state of shock after the body of their only child was recovered from the Qawa River in Labasa yesterday afternoon.
A close family member of 17 year old Abdul Zoheb says he was close to all the family members.
He said Zoheb was in form 6 and was a bright student.
The family member said he was returning from the mosque with a neighbor when the incident happened.
An investigation is underway where police say the victim was last known to have been driving a vehicle which was involved in an accident.
His body was recovered by an operation team from Labasa Police Station and the National Fire Authority and is now at the Labasa Mortuary awaiting post mortem.
