A family of three in Levuka is homeless after their house was completely destroyed in a fire yesterday afternoon.
According to National Fire Authority in Levuka, the fire started at around two in the afternoon but by the time they got to the scene, the whole house was engulfed in flames and they only managed to stop the fire from spreading to nearby homes.
NFA also said that the house was located on a hill which made it more difficult to reach.
The mother Magaret Ashley said it was fortunate that they were all out in town at the time of the fire however they were shocked to come home and find that they had lost everything apart from the clothes on their back.
She said they have lost a lot of priceless photo and family heirlooms.
Investigations are underway to find the cause of the fire.
