A family of five in Nasoso village Nadi is homeless after fire destroyed their three bedroom concrete house this morning.
The home owner and his daughter were at home during the time of the fire.
He was alerted when he felt the heat from the fire while the family was in the sitting room.
He then went to look for his daughter and saw the kitchen on fire.
The fire started around 9am and the fire fighters, who reached the scene 20 minutes, fought hard to contain the fire from spreading to nearby homes which were located ten metres from the fire scene.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the fire started in the kitchen however investigations are continuing with the Police to ascertain the actual cause of the fire.
No one was hurt in the fire.
