Family grieves over husband, father
52 year old Ami Chand is the ninth victim so far this year in fire incidents.
He has left behind his wife and four children.
A close family member said the family spent the Christmas day together at home making lovo and in the afternoon, Chand's wife went to her eldest daughter's place in Nausori with her three children.
According to the family member, Chand's wife received a call about the fire later in the night and when they arrived at the scene their two bedroom corrugated iron and timber house was fully engulfed in flames.
She said Chand's wife and her youngest son fainted at the scene.
She added that the family members were not even sure if Chand was still in the house or had gone somewhere.
Chand was drinking with some friends that afternoon.
His burnt body was discovered in the toilet the next morning.
Investigation is still underway to establish the cause of fire and circumstances surrounding the man's death.
