A Lautoka family has raised concern that water problems in their area has worsened due to dry weather.
Jasma Wati from Kashmir Lautoka said they do not have piped water supply during the day and they have to wake up early in the morning to fill up the water tanks.
However the works ministry has confirmed that residents in Lautoka who are continuing to get water cuts, is not directly due to the dry weather condition experienced in the Western Division.
Spokesperson Sainiana Waqainabete said if residents have been facing disruptions it is due to the ongoing upgrading work being undertaken by the Water Authority, which involves the laying of new pipes in certain areas in Lautoka.
