Around 100 families have until the 24th of this month to vacate the land in Tacirua East on which is earmarked by the Housing Authority to develop into low costing housing through the Chinese construction company.
Jo Selo, a current resident in the area had raised his concern on the issue, stating that they don't have anything else to say but to vacate the land, provided their needs are met.
Housing Authority chief executive Alipate Naiorosui mentioned that there are 160 families living at the site and talks are underway with the landowners to move some residents to a piece of land right opposite that area.
This development is expected to start in the middle of this year.
