While many spent the day trying to catch up with their sleep after staying up late to welcome the New Year last night, alot of people decided to beat the heat and take their families to enjoy the ocean breeze at one of Suva's popular picnic spots.

Suva Point Beach was a hive of activity as many people used their public holiday to just relax. While many were out swimming, some playing and for most they just took the opportunity to catch a quick nap.

Fijivillage News asked some people at Suva Point how they were enjoying their New Year's Day Holiday.
