Officers from the Fair Trading Department and the Prices and Incomes Board will inspect retail outlets in the Western, Northern and Southern Divisions today to see whether supermarket owners are holding onto stocks so that they can sell it at a much higher price following an expected price increase.

Director Fair Trading and Consumer Affairs, Collin Lewis has confirmed that officers will also visit some of the distributors to check whether they are running out of stock or the shop owners are just stocking up.
