New Zealand based Faimasasa Tavui wants a neutral referee for his fight against Fiji's Joy Ali in the Toe-to-Toe Boxing Promotions.
Tavui's Manager Ale Vena speaking from Samoa said home based referees always supports their boxers and would like to see them win in front of their home crowd.
Vena is hoping that if a referee from Fiji is appointed to control the match, he will not be biased.
Meanwhile Fiji Boxing Commission Chairman Isimeli Cerelala said they will have a local to control the fight and has assured that it won't be a hometown based decision.
The Toe-to-Toe Boxing Promotions will be held on Saturday. The main fight will see Joy Ali take on Faimasama Tavui in the 10 x 3 middleweight contests.
