Fa Seeks Permission
After visiting Khan at CWM yesterday, Fa claimed that Khan has stopped eating and he is seriously concerned over his condition. He said Khan needs urgent medical attention abroad.
Fa has also raised concerns over the level of security personnel assigned to Khan who is bed ridden at the hospital. Fa claims that he has not been able to speak to his client in private as two security officers are always with him which is a breach of his constitutional rights.
However, the Police Commissioner has stressed that he will not allow businessman Ballu Khan to leave the country for a medical examination.
Commodore Esala Teleni told Village News earlier that they have evidence against Khan that he was one of the key players in the alleged plot to assassinate Commodore Bainimarama, Mahendra Chaudhry, Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum, Colonel Samuela Saumatua and Lieutenant Colonel Sitiveni Qiliho.
Meanwhile, Suva Magistrate John Semisi is expected to give his reasons to defense lawyers this morning why the 11 men charged in relation to the assassination plot against the Interim PM and others were denied bail on Friday and remanded in custody until the next hearing date.
