FVB Happy With Number of Australian Tourists
Paresh Pant said January this year saw 19,121 Australians coming to Fiji while 13,123 Australians were in the country in February this year which is a significant increase compared to the same time last year and hopes to achieve a target of 209, 000 Australian tourists in Fiji.
Pant told Travel Blackboard that they have made a three year cooperative plan with their partners to get more Australian tourists to Fiji despite limited resources.
He said in addition to Fiji's traditional holiday target market from Australia, the Bureau has been targeting the meeting's incentives and conferences sector (MICE) with the expectation on increasing last year's total large group businesses visiting Fiji.
Pant said two major retail conferences for this year, scheduled for August will see 1,000 travel agents in Fiji further endorsing the destination's reputation of relaxation and security.
