While the taxi fare increases from today, the Fiji Taxi Union has revealed that they will have a meeting with the new Interim Minister for Transport Brigadier Timoci Lesi Natuva before deciding on their next step with regards to the legal action against the now former Interim Minister for Transport, Manu Korovulavula.
Union General Secretary Rishi Ram also revealed that the union's emergency meeting to discuss the fare and fuel increase was cancelled yesterday afternoon.
The FTU had earlier planned to take the former Interim Minister for Transport to court as they had not received an increase in taxi fares for several years.
Instructions had been given to the Union's lawyer Hamendra Nagin to file the necessary papers however as Nagin is overseas, nothing was done.
