Fiji Teachers Union General Secretary Agni Deo Singh has rubbished the comments by the former interim Finance Minister Mahendra Chaudhry saying that the Public Service Commission and Unions had agreed on not backdating the pay cut restoration.
In a talkback on Radio Sargam, Chaudhry revealed that upon advice from the Public Service Commission the cabinet decided not to backdate the pay restoration for civil servants after consultation with Unions to which Deo said is false.
Meanwhile, PSC Chairman Rishi Ram is unable to comment on the issue at the moment and is expected comment later today.
