FTIB to use new concept to increase investment
Board Chairman, Dr. James Ah Koy said cabinet through FTIB is bringing back the "one stop shop" concept which is a completely new concept in the world where decisions will solely be made by the board members to approve or reject an application for investors. He said ministers will no longer make decisions.
He said an application will be processed within two weeks and new application form for investors has been designed which takes care of all the requirements.
He said the investors will be looked after by the FTIB and any problems faced by them will be handled by the Board.
Meanwhile, a new ten member board for FTIB met for the first time today. Board members include, Sir James Ah Koy, Radha Gounder a business consultant, Director Immigration, Viliame Naupoto, and Permanent Secretary for Commerce, Amenatave Yauvoli and a businessman, William Situ. Government has recently appointed three new members who are Finance Permanent secretary, FIRCA CEO and Director Town and Country planning.
