The Fijian Teachers Association will soon be calling on the Public Service Commission to resume talks on their claims for Cost of Living Adjustment or COLA payments.
General Secretary Maika Namudu said life is becoming more difficult for workers as cost of living is getting higher.
Namudu said they will take further action if their demands are not met.
Meanwhile, the Fiji Nurses Association believes that as the prices of goods and services increase, the quantity gets smaller.
FNA General Secretary Kuini Lutua said that they have asked for COLA increment due to these increases.
The Statistics Department reveals that the prices of food items and some household goods increased last month thus people had to fork out more money to buy even some basic items like wheat products, meat, fresh fish, fruit, dairy product, oil, tea, ovaltine and many vegetables.
