The Fijian Teachers Association has raised concerns after claiming that it has taken the Ministry of Labour more than 10 months to accept its trade dispute filed against the decision to implement a 5% pay cut in the civil service last year.
FTA General Secretary Maika Namudu told Village news that they only received a letter from the Permanent Secretary for Labour on Monday stating that the ministry has accepted their dispute filed.
However, Interim Minister for Labour Bernadette Ganilau said there were still discussions underway between the PSC and the Unions which could be the reason for the delay.
