The Fijian Teachers Association said while the Poverty Relief Fund for Education will help, there is still alot of questions that need to be answered on this project.
General Secretary, Maika Namudu said the important question to ask is how will this project be implemented, even with the $200,000 seed money allocated in the budget for the fund.
Interim Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama announced that the bulk of funding for this initiative will come from the private sector, individuals, community and voluntary organisations and aid donors and to encourage such funding support, a 200 percent tax deduction for contributions in excess of $50,000 will be available.
$200,000 has been allocated for this project which will be handled by the PM's office.
