The Fijian Teachers Association will not be intimidated by the interim regime's threats, that warn civil servants that they will be deemed to have resigned or will be terminated if they do not turn up to work for 7 days.

Acting FTA general secretary Peni Delaibatiki said the interim regime is working outside the boundary of the law.

The interim cabinet met for a briefing by the Police Commissioner Commodore Esala Teleni yesterday afternoon on the national contingency plans to be coordinated by the National Taskforce, as members of the Fiji Nursing Association and the unions under the Fiji Islands Council of Trade Unions plan to go on strike.

Cabinet has also agreed that the Public Order Act will be fully enforced during the strike if the need arises.
