The Chief Executive Officer of the Fiji Sugar Corporation Limited, Deo Saran has resigned.

Interim Chairman of the FSC Board, Marika Gaunavou has confirmed Saran's resignation but his replacement is yet to be announced.

Saran first joined FSC in 2002 as Senior Financial Analyst and served as CEO of the Corporation from September 2008.

Fijivillage News has received confirmation that the announcement of the new CEO will be made soon through the South Pacific Stock Exchange as FSC is a publicly listed company.

We have been informed that the likely person to take up the post is former Permanent Secretary for Finance, John Prasad.

The major shareholders of FSC are the government and the FNPF.

The government of Fiji owns 30.239 million shares while FNPF has 7.810 million shares.
