The Fiji Rugby Union has urged its affiliated unions to accept the funds which will be given to them for this year.

This is after Suva Rugby Union President Francis Kean and Nadroga Rugby Union President Tiko Matawalu asked whether funds for the respective unions would be at least $280,000 each.

This was raised during the FRU’s Special General Meeting over the weekend.

Last year the unions received $22,000 each.

FRU Chairman Filimoni Waqabaca said they will not be able to provide $280,000 to each union.

Waqabaca said they have just managed to get a new sponsor to come on board and the unions should be happy with this.
