The Fiji Rugby Union High Performance Unit will be requesting more funding from the IRB to cater for the development of the sport, after a successful outing at the recent World Cup in France.
Speaking to Village sports, HPU Manager, Peter Murphy said that they will need the extra funding to cover costs and will also be requesting an increase from the previous years allocation.
Murphy adds that the funding will also cover the cost of employing officers who will lay the groundwork for the next World Cup in 2011 in New Zealand.
The funding will also contribute to the building of fitness gymnasiums around the country.
