The Fiji Rugby Union board is expected to release a statement soon following their meeting yesterday on the report from the World Cup inquiry and the appointment of the 7s coach along with the new Chief Executive and the 15s coach.

The board met for 3 hours last night going through what needs to be done to uplift the standard of rugby in the country.

One of the first assignments is to lay out an organizational structure for its office and staff which will be in place before the new CEO is appointed.

Also this afternoon at 5 the applications for the 7s coach to the next IRB Sevens will be closed.

Top coaches who have shown their interest are Redrock’s Lote Rasiga, Waimanu club coach Sailosi Naiteqe, Rewa’s coach Watisoni Ratulevu, Iliesa Tanivula and current coach Josateki Savou.

Successful applicants are expected to be interviewed early next month before the Australia Sevens kicks-off in Gold Coast on the 25th and 26th of November.
