The Fiji Rugby Union will re‑look at some of the agreements between the FRU and its sponsors regarding bonus payments given to the Vodafone Fiji Sevens team if they win an international tournament.

FRU Chief Executive Officer, Radrodro Tabualevu told Fijivillage that he has made the decision to re‑look at how some things are being done at FRU when he took up the CEO's post.

According to the Fiji Rugby Union’s sponsorship deal, a bonus payment of $20,000 will be given to the Vodafone Fiji 7s team if they win a tournament.

Tabualevu said they have contracted 12 players where the players are getting paid every fortnight even if they are not playing in a tournament.

Fijivillage also spoke to Sevens Head Coach Ben Ryan on this issue.

Ryan said that he was just recently made aware that the bonus payments have not been given to the players. He is hoping that this will be resolved in order to keep the players focused for the Hong Kong 7's.

Fiji is pooled with Samoa, Belgium and Canada in the Hong Kong 7s which kicks off next Friday.

Fiji will face Samoa in their first game at 12.44am Saturday.

The national side will depart Nadi International Airport at 8am Monday.
