In an effort to retain talented sevens players, the Fiji Rugby Union has agreed to set out a plan in contracting local sevens players.

The Fiji Rugby Union Chairman Filimoni Waqabaca said the players being contract will maintain the consistency performance of the team in a series. 

Waqabaca said they are looking at eighteen to twenty four players and are aiming to start the contract project in the next season.


The Chairman has also confirmed that the National Sevens coaching position will be advertised after the Mini games.


Waqabaca said the board will decide on who will be the new coach of the Sevens team after they review every applications.
