FRU to assess Fiji 7s coach after USA 7s
Some calls have been made for the removal of the coach, Iliesa Tanivula however others have said that the coach should be retained and changing the coaching panel after every leg of the series does not give any room for growth and development.
FRU's Interim Chairman, Rafaele Kasibulu said an assessment will be carried out later this month.
We asked him if it is a sensible move to think about changing the coach, knowing that it takes time to develop a team and there is no quick fix.
Kasibulu said he agreed with this suggestion but the assessment of the team's performance will determine their next step.
Kasibulu has also made it clear that Tanivula decided on the players to make up the Fiji team.
With the USA 7s tournament just days away, the question now arising is whether the comments by rugby fans in opinion coloumns and various articles is making a positive impact on the team's performance.
Speaking to Fijivillage from Las Vegas, Tanivula said he is just concentrating with the team to deliver the best results for Fiji.
Meanwhile Fiji is in Pool C with Canada, Scotland and Australia. The side takes on Canada in their opening Pool game at 7.52am on Sunday.
