The Fiji Rugby Union is aiming to raise $2 million for the Flying Fijians team to the World Cup in 2011 in New Zealand.
Former Prime Minister and Trustee of the Fiji Rugby Union Major General Sitiveni Rabuka officially launched the lottery last Friday and has called on the Fiji public to support the Flying Fijians team to the World Cup.
Speaking at the launch, Rabuka called on the rugby public to stop criticising the team but come on board and help out.
Rabuka has stressed that Fiji is a rugby loving nation, and believes it will not be hard to prove it.
The Flying Fijians team is still without an official sponsor, so the lottery is a way in which the public can contribute to fundraising.
