Fiji Rugby Unions High Performance Unit General Manager Mike Ryan said there was nothing wrong in the process of choosing the players for the Rugby World cup training squad.

Ryan’s comments come after one of the selectors of the Fiji 7s team, Sailosi Naiteqe Senior said he is not happy with how things have taken place in the naming of the squad and has stepped down as a selector.

Ryan added he will not comment further on the issue.

Naiteqe said all the selectors were supposed to sit and decide on the names but head coach Alifereti Dere changed some names on Friday.

He added a player like Seremaia Burotu should have been in the squad.

The players in the squad include Leone Nakarawa, Lepani Botia, Nemani Nagusa, Joji Raqamate, Metuisela Talebula, Vereniki Goneva, Samisoni Viriviri, Jasa Veremalua, Waisea Nayacalevu, Watisoni Votu, Alipate Ratini, Ilai Tinai, Jone Vota, Setefano Cakau, Osea Kolinisau, Timoci Matanavou, Sakiusa Gavidi, Emosi Mulevoro, Donasio Ratubuli, Ulaiasi Lawavou and Sunia Kubu.
