The Fiji Rugby Union recorded a loss of over two hundred and twenty seven thousand dollars for 2010.

That was the revelation from the FRU members at their Annual General Meeting currently underway in Sigatoka.

The affiliated unions were informed that the Union recorded a loss of $227,416 as at December 10th last year compared to a profit of $911, 014 made in 2009.

The loss is attributed to the vacancy in the marketing and sponsorship manager's position until late 2009 as well as to the appointment of three key management positions which were vacant until 2009.

The Unions were also informed that the Chief Executive Officer was not fully remunerated in 2009 and other significant increases in costs as discussed under the expenditure system.

The meeting currently continues at the outrigger on the Lagoon resort in Sigatoka.
