Fiji Rugby Union (FRU) President Ro Filipe Tuisawau is ready to liaise directly with the International Rugby Board (IRB) to explain to them the charges laid against FRU Acting CEO Keni Dakuidreketi, if the latter decides not to step down.
Ro Filipe said he maintains his stance that government should intervene and he will liaise directly with IRB on the outcome of the meetings with Government.
However, FRU Chairman Bill Gavoka said the rugby house has its links with the IRB and there will be serious implications if government intervenes on the affairs of the Rugby House.
Bye-Law 10 of the IRB Constitution, subsection C states, "that a union may be suspended pursuant to the IRB Bye-laws and regulations if state authorities interfere in its affairs".
Ro Filipe added that he will remain as President, even if Dakuidreketi maintains his position at FRU.
