The Fiji Rugby Union is hoping that top overseas coaches like former Crusaders and Wallaby mentor Robbie Deans will apply for the Vodafone Flying Fijians coaching job.

FRU Chairman Filimoni Waqabaca said no one has been approached and they will get the best person for the job.

Meanwhile the Fiji Rugby Union has preferred a local to take up the vacant position of Chief Executive Officer.

Waqabaca said a local is needed for the job after they failed to meet the pay package offered by the overseas applicant earlier selected for the post.

Waqabaca added that they will reconsider the position in May after the board finalised all the issues regarding the Fiji Rugby Union.
