The Fiji Rugby Union Chairman Bill Gavoka was disappointed yesterday, when the FRU meeting was called off because of permit issues.

The FRU was told yesterday that it would require a permit to hold the meeting, but after having lodged its application the FRU was denied the permit.

The FRU Board and Unions had proposed to meet at the Fiji Club yesterday to formally discuss and review the 2009 season, however were threatened with incarceration by the Fiji Police if the meeting were to happen.

Gavoka said, he is finding it rather bemusing and almost beyond belief that a sporting body can not formally meet with its member Unions to discuss matters relating to the season.

Meanwhile questions faxed to Director of Police Uniforms Operations Waisea Tabakau as to why the permit was not granted has not been answered yet.
