After its meeting yesterday the Fiji Rugby Union Board has agreed to retain Iliesa Tanivula as the Digicel Fiji Sevens coach, assisted by Josateki Savou, to maintain consistency for the Hong Kong and Adelaide leg of the IRB Sevens tournament.

The Board's interim Chairman, Rafaele Kasibulu, said the Sevens Strategic Direction 2010-2015, approved by the Board last year, has begun to show some positive signs judging from the results of the past two IRB 7's tournaments.

The High Performance Unit will continue to closely monitor its implementation.

The Board has acknowledged the five points in the agreement between the IRB and the Government and would like to clarify certain issues before its implementation.

The Suva Rugby Union - supported by Tailevu, Rewa and Northland Unions - have requested holding a Special General Meeting to receive and discuss a motion of no confidence in the current Board.

The FRU Board agrees the request is within the ambits of the constitution and the SGM will be held at Khatriya Hall at 15 Desvouex Rd, Suva on Saturday 5th March at 9.00am.
