The Fiji Rugby Union is still confident they will strike a major cash sponsorship deal this year.
Chief Executive Officer Manasa Baravilala said they cannot release the names of the business houses.
Fijivillage asked Baravilala why it has taken this long for FRU to have a major sponsor since the Flying Fijians last sponsorship deal was in 2007.
Baravilala added that he hoped Digicel will continue their 7s sponsorship.
Meanwhile, the national rugby players will now have the chance to wear the latest and lightest rugby boots in the world which weighs 172 grams.
This is after the FRU announced global sports brand Mizuno as the official footwear for the Flying Fijians, National U-21, U-19, Fiji Warriors, Digicel Fiji 7s and Fijiana for the next four years.
