The Fiji Rugby Union is waiting on the match commissioner’s report from two of the Digicel Cup matches last week before making a decision on the provincial unions who were involved in the brawl.
On Friday the Navosa and Ovalau U-20 match was called off with 20 minutes of play remaining after a free for all brawl erupted between the players which resulted in some players sent to the Sigatoka hospital.
Again on Saturday at Churchill Park two red cards were issued to a Lautoka and Tavua player after punches were thrown with a few minutes of play remaining.
FRU has made it clear they will not entertain such incidents in the Digicel Cup and they will take tough action on the players and the provincial teams that are involved.
This Saturday in round 9 of competition will see Nadroga, who are currently in second place in the points table, take on Lautoka who are in 3rd spot at Lawaqa park on Saturday at 3pm and you can catch a live commentary of this game on our sister station Viti FM.
