The Fiji Rugby Union should take full responsibility!

These are the words of Lautoka City Council Clerk Pushpa Raj reacting to the incident at Churchill Park yesterday where strong winds blew off the roof of a temporary grand stand injuring some spectators and causing damages to a car.

When contacted by Fijivillage this after, Raj said that the Council takes full responsibility for the hiring of the ground by the FRU but the ball is now in their court to cover for damages.

Raj adds that the FRU should shoulder the burden of compensating those injured spectators and for the damaged cars as they hired the contractors to build the temporary stand.

Efforts to get comments from the Fiji Rugby Union CEO proved futile.
