The Fiji Rugby Union will be issuing a statement next week to outline their views on the idea of a Pacific Islanders team joining the expanded Super 14 SANZAR Tournament.

Board Chairman, Keni Dakuidreketi said that the decision of taking part in the SANZAR Tournament is a big issue, and the Board will meet this week to decide on their stance.

Dakuidreketi adds that they will have to also consider the availability of overseas based players and whether they will be released to be part of the team, once the concept comes into practice.

Another issue that the FRU will consider before a final decision is made is the economic benefits of joining SANZAR, as they would not want to disturb the FRU's annual timetable of events.
