The Fiji Rugby Union is now seeking the assistance of the Pacific Island Rugby Alliance to allow its top players playing in overseas clubs to be released for next year’s Nations Cup review.

After last week’s 50-13 lost to Australia A, FRU CEO Rt Timoci Tavanavanua said PIRA should look heavily at the results of the PNC for the three countries Fiji, Tonga and Samoa to make the decision.

Ratu Timoci adds that if the IRB wants competitive rugby then they should allow the release of players playing abroad to be part of their respective team.

Fiji in the PNC did not have the services of players like Nicky Little, Seremaia Bai, Napolioni Nalaga and Sireli Bobo to be part of the team as they were tied up with club commitments.

Fiji will take on Tonga in the last PNC game this Saturday at 11am.
