The Fiji Rugby Union is aware that there are agents around luring our players with overseas contracts without their knowledge and a lot of financial losses are incurred as a result.
Speaking at the Fiji Rugby Union AGM on Saturday, High Performance Unit Manager, Peter Murphy said that they are still chasing some players who are not paying their development fees.
Murphy added the Fiji Rugby Union will see that every recruitment agent is registered with them before any negotiations for the transfer and release of the player.
Murphy added that the FRU expects an increase of development fees for contracted players to come in next year compared to the $64,000 plus they received this year.
Meanwhile, seven Unions namely Nadi, Naitasiri, Lautoka, Ra, Suva, Nadroga and Ovalau received payment cheques on Saturday for their players serving overseas contracts.
