The Fiji Rugby Union Annual General Meeting has been called off today after it did not reach the required number of quorum to proceed with the meeting today.
Only 24 members attended the meeting and FRU was not able to reach the required 40 member quorum which is stated in the constitution.
Fiji Rugby Union Chief Executive Officer Radrodro Tabualevu said that twice in succession the meeting did not reach a quorum and they are looking to have a Special General Meeting at the end of this year to decrease the number of required quorum which is in the constitution.
Radrodro added plans of having the next AGM will have to wait for next year as various teams are now concentrating on the HFC Bank Farebrother Sullivan Trophy.
Unions that were not present today include Tailevu, Rewa, Macuata, Ovalau, Cakaudrove and Kadavu.
Meanwhile, also present at the FRU’s AGM today was President Ratu Epeli Nailatikau.
