The Fiji Public Service Association is calling on companies and government department not to delay payments owed to workers.

In relation to the increase in the Cost of Living, the Association said they are currently liaising with the companies of their union members for an increase in Cost of Living Adjustment payments adding that the companies are somewhat taking their time with payments.

A reason given for the delay, according to General Secretary, Rajeshwar Singh was that claims were made late last year from companies and government bodies as well.

Singh adds that the union fully understands what many families are going through and calls on quick action.
