The Fiji Public Service Association will also make fresh submissions to the interim government to try and increase the minimum hourly wages for its members.
As the Fiji Post and Telecommunications Employees Association revealed that it will now push for the minimum wage to be set at $4.36 an hour, FPSA General Secretary Rakeshwar Singh said this is something they have been requesting for years.
Singh confirmed to Fijivillage News that the Fiji Trade Union Congress will make fresh submissions to increase the minimum wage, which they believe should be above $5 an hour.
Questions have been sent to Interim Minister for Labour Lekh Ram Vayeshnoi who is expected to comment later today. Fiji Employers Federation CEO Ken Roberts said he will also comment later.
