Association has also joined the Fijian Teachers Association in seeking a Judicial Review of the interim government's decision to reduce the retirement age from 60 to 55 years in the Public Service.

Suva High Court Judge, Justice Filimoni Jitoko this morning allowed FPSA to join in the case as an interested party. He ordered that copies of all papers and affidavits already filed with the court be delivered to FPSA's legal firm today.

Also FPSA's lawyers have been given 7 days to file relevant papers with court and other parties to show why leave should be granted by the Court for the Judicial Review to proceed.

Justice Jitiko has not yet granted any such leave to any party as yet. The case has been set for hearing on 8th August when the court will hear submissions from all parties on the application.

The Unions had the retirement age dispute with the Public Service Commission for some time and both the parties agreed that court action be awaited.
