The Fiji National Provident Fund will strongly oppose the claims by construction company Coteba which is seeking $2.6 million in damages from Natadola Bay Resort Limited.

NBRL Chairman Felix Anthony confirmed to Village News that they are aware of the legal action filed by Coteba, however NBRL and FNPF are firm on their stance in relation to the company.

Anthony, while admitting that Coteba is owed some outstanding payments, has stressed that their stance is that the company should also be held liable for various problems encountered with the construction of the multi million dollar resort project which the company was responsible for.

He said due to these issues, Coteba will not be paid in full and they are willing to fight it out in court.

Lawyers representing Coteba International confirm they have taken legal action for alleged breach of contract in connection to Coteba's role in the multi million dollar resort project and have not been paid fees for many months.
