The Acting Interim Minister for Labour, Adi Laufitu Malani is working around the clock to try and put an end to the strike by the over 200 members of the Fiji Bank and Finance Sector Union, who walked off their jobs on Thursday.
Union General Secretary Pramod Rea when contacted late yesterday said that there were positive signs that a solution may be found to the current stand-off.
Malani was in a meeting late yesterday and is expected to comment on the issue later this morning.
Meanwhile, the Fiji Bank and Finance Sector Union has withdrawn from the Fiji Trade Union Congress after a decision by its executive committee.
Rae said they have lost confidence in Felix Anthony, one of the workers' representatives on the FNPF Board and they believe he does not represent workers any more.
However, Felix Anthony told Village that Rae is diverting attention from the real issues which face the workers of FNPF and is using the opportunity for his own gain.
Anthony said he is not willing to assist Rae in this fight as he believes that the workers are being misled.
