With just three days remaining for hundreds of retirees to go home, the Fiji National Provident Fund (FNPF) said whether the members going home opt for a lump sum or pension, the Fund is ready to meet their needs.

Chief Executive Aisake Taito said the fund is worth $3.6 billion, which includes a large cash reserve adding the Fund is financially stable to provide those retiring on Thursday with their retirement funds built up over the years.

Under the State Services Decree 2009 civil servants that are 55 and over are to retire this Thursday the 30th of April.

It had been confirmed that a little over 300 from the Health Ministry including 15 doctors and 97 nurses, over 300 civil servants from the Works, Public Utilities and Energy Ministry and a little over 800 teachers will retire amongst others.
